Introduction of the Blue-Tek™ UV Cured CIPP System in Europe.
By combining a unique, patented manufacturing technology with an advanced, fiberglass reinforced UV cured resin material, Brandenburger first introduced the Blue-Tek™ liner system in Germany in the early 1990s. Due to its superior properties (4-6 times stronger than felt CIPP products) and its unparalleled high quality, the Blue-Tek™ CIPP system achieved almost immediate market success in Europe which quickly extended abroad into other countries. To date, over 10 million feet of the Blue-Tek™ CIPP has been manufactured, sold and installed over 45 countries worldwide.
Establishment and Success of the Blue-Tek™ UV Cured CIPP System in the US.
In 2006 several improvements were introduced to the Blue-Tek™ CIPP system including higher energy UV lamps and more advanced UV curing electronic controls. During that same year, Reline America, Inc., in Saltville, Virginia, became established as an exclusive North American partner for manufacturing the Blue-Tek™ CIPP liner and UV curing equipment. Reline first opened the doors of its 60,000 square foot, state-of-the-art manufacturing facility and test laboratory in April, 2006 and started initial production of the Blue-Tek™ CIPP liner, in sizes ranging from 4” to 40”, in early 2007. This was quickly followed by successful fabrication and initial sales of the Blue-Tek™ UV curing and liner installation equipment. Reline’s initial installation crew started installing the Blue-Tek™ liner system in early 2007 and quickly received accolades for its successes. This led to several articles being published about the successful installation of the Blue Tek liner in particularly difficult installations, many of which no other competitor’s product would attempt. As a case in point, one of Blue-Tek™’s contractors successfully installed the Blue-Tek™ liner system in a challenging project in a Perry County, Pennsylvania resort involving a corrugated drain pipe installed underneath a dam. The success of this project was featured in the February 2008 edition of Trenchless Technology. Reline also successfully installed the Blue-Tek liner in a highly deteriorated 24 inch diameter pipe in Amarillo, Texas which no other product would attempt. The success of this project was featured in 2008 article in the publication, Composites Technology.
Some of the more noteworthy achievements which demonstrate how the Blue-Tek liner is being increasingly recognized and respected as the “next generation” CIPP product in North America include:
